We created the new Nitro Guest Shaper Series to celebrate the passion for board shaping by snowboarders around the world. We're opening up our inner design circle and allowing new and sometimes off-the-wall ideas to become reality! OG Nitro pro rider Drew Hicken is our first guest shaper, with a tribute to Nitro's first swallowtail board, the Retro, and the legendary Pow boards that followed with Drew's design input. A powder field destroyer with its wider swallowtail shape, focusing on the float and glide with responsive flex for stability in drops, high speeds, and end-of-the-day chop! It's a limited board, so get it while you can for your collection!

For years I have been keeping notes, making drawings, in hopes of updating the 1995 swallowtail. With the resurgence in the past few years of old-school shapes, I felt the time was right. And I knew right away I wanted to work with Tommy and Nitro. 30 years ago, we set the standard with the 196cm, and now it’s time to do it again - inspired by Little Cottonwood Canyon and the love of snowboarding!

Tech Details

Tapered Swallowtail

The full width nose and narrower tail of our Tapered Swallowtail shapes make the board float evenly through the fluffiest of pow and cut through the occasional crust, while the deeply cut swallowtail reduces the rearward board surface even more for improved control and reduced rear leg burn.

Cam-Out Camber

Our Cam-Out Camber is basically a Trüe Camber with early and smooth transitions into tip and tail. The result is a fun and responsive board that turns on the spot and is forgiving, even after that 713.5° landing!

Standard Core Profile

Like a well-designed bow, the Standard Core Profile has a thicker part in the middle - from first insert to last – while thinning gradually towards the contact points, providing the ultimate in speed stability and edge control.

Mid-Wide

Mid-Wide boards provide that little extra in width for less toe and heel drag, additional flotation and that extra bit of confidence when leaning into these power carves on icy slopes.

Progressive

A larger radius in the front, blended into a tighter one towards the tail: The Progressive Sidecut makes accelerating out of turns a breeze, while maintaining a catch-free nose area.

Sintered EcoSpeed HD Base

Utilizing a recycled material compound, we have been able to achieve the same abrasion resistance, increased wax absorption and on-snow speeds with our Sintered EcoSpeed HD base as on other comparable sintered bases.

Recycled Steel Edge

50% recycled steel edges are standard on all boards. They are strong, durable, and can be sharpened multiple times.

Bi-Lite Laminates

Our rider-trusted Bi-Lite Laminates are engineered for unrivalled strength, powerful style and refined board-feel.

Powercore II

The Powercore II is a tip-to-tail poplar wood core with additional beech wood stringers for unrivalled strength, smooth response, and insane pop.

ABS Sidewalls

Our ABS sidewalls are made from 35% recycled polymers and are designed to be cold-resistant and durable.

Ecopoxy33

Ecopoxy33 is our bio-based epoxy resin that reduces the carbon footprint of our boards.

Ecoguard Topsheet

Our Ecoguard Topsheet is made from 90% recycled materials and provides a transparent, durable finish.
